Description
MYCHOPHOS
MYCHOPHOS is an eco-friendly product designed to mobilize the essential nutrient Phosphorus, which is often locked up and unavailable in the soil.
Key Component & Mechanism
- Active Ingredient: Phosphate-Solubilizing Fungal Bacteria (PSFB).
- Mechanism (Solubilization):
- The PSFB releases various organic acids (such as citric, oxalic, gluconic, and malic acids).
- These organic acids act as natural chelating agents, binding with metal cations like calcium and aluminum.
- In the soil, most phosphate exists in insoluble forms bound to these metal cations (e.g., tricalcium phosphate).
- By chelating the metals, the PSFB effectively releases the phosphate from its bound state, converting it into a soluble form that the plant roots can readily absorb.
Primary Functions & Benefits
- Phosphorus Availability: The core function is unlocking soil-bound phosphorus, a nutrient vital for energy transfer, root development, and flowering/fruiting.
- Chelation: The use of organic acids to chelate metals is an efficient, natural way to ensure nutrient access.
- Cost Efficiency: Reduces the reliance on chemical phosphate fertilizers, utilizing the vast (but often locked) reserves already present in the soil.
Application Details
- Dosage: 2 to 3 ml per Liter of water.
- Application Method: This dosage suggests it is likely applied through foliar spray, drenching, or drip irrigation.
