Description
RHIZO-ZEAL (Rhizobium Species)
RHIZO-ZEAL is an ecological formulation designed to naturally supply nitrogen to crops, specifically those in the legume family.
Key Component & Mechanism
- Active Ingredient: Rhizobium (a nodulating type of microorganism).
- Role: This is a type of bacterium known as a nitrogen-fixing bacterium.
- Mechanism (Symbiotic Relationship):
- The Rhizobium in the formulation associates symbiotically (mutually beneficially) with the roots of legume plants.
- It causes the plant to form small structures called nodules on the roots.
- The Rhizobium multiplies and resides inside these nodules.
- Within the nodules, the bacteria convert inert atmospheric nitrogen ($N_2$)—which plants cannot use—into a usable form (like ammonium), effectively fixing atmospheric nitrogen directly for the plant.
Primary Functions & Benefits
- Natural Nitrogen Supply: Provides a major portion of the plant’s nitrogen needs through a biological, eco-friendly process.
- Cost Reduction: Reduces the need for, and cost of, chemical nitrogen fertilizers.
- Soil Health: Promotes a natural biological process in the soil, enhancing soil fertility and structure.
Application Details
- Dosage: 500 ml per Acre.
- Application Method: As a biofertilizer, it is typically applied as a seed treatment (coating the seeds before planting) or through soil application/drenching to ensure the bacteria reach the root zone.
